And so we should not take a point system based on asylum seekers’ age and origin as an example. Instead, we must work on creating stronger links to our countries, strengthening the role of women and men in our society and developing the ability of European countries to deal with immigration from Syria, to prevent the current crisis from spreading,” said Schulz.
“We should instead build strong solidarity and cooperation with refugees, to enable them to rebuild their lives before they have to leave us.”
A spokesman for the Social Democrats confirmed that the party will co-sponsor the bill.
Schulz will introduce his bill at a general meeting of the Social Democrats in the Social Democrats’ regional committee (RUSC) in Berlin on February 23.

Queen rocker completes phd in physics at California State University, Dominguez Hills, after four years at Michigan State
A Michigan State University graduate, who was also the Michigan State University alumnus on the rocker’s team, passed away of congestive heart failure earlier this week, the university announced Wednesday.
Christopher Ritchie, a third-generation, blue-collar Michigan native, passed away at his home in Oakland County, Mich. on Oct. 12, the university announced in a news release.
“The rest of you in the Michigan rocker community do be very heartbroken at the loss of an early and beloved member. Chris was everything that Michigan State meant to me and will remain more than just the inspiration for generations to come. Chris will be remembered not as just the inspiration but as an inspiration’s son who had the courage to be a part of something bigger than the university and his own personal destiny. We share in your loss and continue to cherish Chris’s love for the music,” the university said in the release.
According to records obtained by Michigan State’s student newspaper, Ritchie won the “rocker of the year” award after his performance on Michigan’s annual Spring Break tour in February 2012.
The other two rockers who were not named on the roster were Mike Stenhouse, who was the Michigan State’s head man after the team won the 2001-02 National Championship, and Darryl Jenson, who was a college player and now is a member of the Detroit Pistons.
Ritchie played on Ritchie’s 1995 World Tour as the son of Joe and Diane Ritchie.
“I never thought I’d be standing with Chris, but at that point in time, I guess we did anyway. We knew it was something special. To learn of Chris’ passing just made me feel good to help out the young guys out and have a positive impact on youth,” said Joe Ritchie, Christopher’s father.
A native of Oakland County, Ritchie graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in physics from Michigan State in 2004.
In addition to performing with the Rockettes since 2008, Ritchie appeared in numerous TV shows and movies. He’s also worked as a TV/film producer, film, radio and web producer, said Ritchie’s mother Debbie Ritchie.
“He was so well liked that people all over the world kept coming to see him perform and sing,” Debbie Ritchie said. “His popularity was growing. He became the star of MTV’s ‘Ride with the Rockettes.'”
